NBC NY trolls Tom Brady over Super Bowl losses to Giants after retirement
Following reports and rumors that began on Friday and escalated by Saturday evening alon with a podcast episode that feels rather dishonest in nature less than 24 hours after its initial release, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and seven-time champion Tom Brady confirmed on Tuesday that he is retiring from the NFL.
As was seen throughout Saturday when it became widely believed the G.O.A.T. was riding off into the sunset, tributes to Brady's once-in-a-lifetime career from around the sports and entertainment worlds went public almost immediately after his morning announcement. However, one outlet chose to mention two games Brady admittedly doesn't like to focus on when reflecting on the past: The losses he and the New England Patriots suffered to the New York Giants in Super Bowls XLII and XLVI.
Brady guided the Patriots to six titles during his tenure with the organization but fell victim to two all-time great passes delivered by former Giants quarterback Eli Manning in those famous defeats.
Manning was even able to poke fun at his former on-field rival during an edition of a "Monday Night Football" "Manningcast" this past fall.
Now that all three quarterbacks have called time on their careers, maybe they could work an entire "MNF" game together for ESPN at some point during the 2022 season. If nothing else, they could offer some golf tips to the viewing public.
