Ndamukong Suh: Staying with Buccaneers was the ultimate goal

Ndamukong Suh's new deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was made official on Monday and he met with the media later in the day to discuss the contract.

This is the third straight year that Suh has signed a one-year deal with the Bucs. He told reporters he talked with other teams, but returning to Tampa Bay was always his top choice.

The star defensive tackle had a solid 2021 campaign, recording six sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, 44 tackles, nine tackles for a loss and 19 quarterback hits.

He was also solid in the playoffs, recording 1.5 sacks, 10 tackles and four quarterback hits.

Suh's deal for 2021 is worth $9 million. He is the 17th highest-paid defensive tackle in the league next season, tied with Denver's Shelby Harris and Minnesota's Michael Pierce, per Spotrac.
