Nebraska football landed a commitment on Tuesday from 2024 four-star offensive tackle Grant Brix. He made the announcement on X.

Brix is the fifth overall offensive tackle in the 2024 class, and the top player in the class from the state of Iowa per the 247Sports composite rankings. He had been trending to Nebraska for the last couple of days, with several predictions having him go to Lincoln. The tackle had taken several visits to Nebraska, including back in October when the Huskers took on Purdue.

Brix had a solid offer sheet that included the likes of Kansas State, Oklahoma, and Alabama. Oklahoma was once thought to be a major player in his recruitment. However, the Huskers were able to seal the deal. Brix as recruited to Nebraska by offensive line coach Donovan Raiola.  Raiola has had a strong cycle, as he has been able to land the likes of Gibson Pyle and Preston Taumua in this cycle alone.

Brix brings a mauling attitude to the offensive line. He is extremely sturdy in his blocks, and excels in particular at run blocking. He also has good awareness in terms of being able to pick up blocks.  Leverage is a strong suit of his, and he is able to stay square while getting the upper hand on his man. As result, he is able to maintain a clean pocket for the quarterback.

This is addition No.  27 for a 2024 Nebraska football recruiting class that currently ranks 20th overall in the country per the 247Sports Team Rankings. With this addition, Nebraska now has eight blue-chip commitments in the class per the 247Sports Composite rankings. For reference, a blue-chip is a four-star commitment.

Nebraska football is set for the future at the offensive line position. This coaching staff has wanted to make the offensive line position a focus. The addition of Brix aids in that focus.
