New HC Raheem Morris gives fantasy owners confidence in Falcons playmakers

The Falcons officially introduced Raheem Morris as their new head coach on Monday and what he said about his young playmakers should give fantasy football owners confidence heading into 2024.

Morris was asked about what stands out about the offense and his response was exactly what managers were hoping to hear.

"That's really easy. Drake London. Bijan Robinson," Morris told reporters. "[GM Terry Fontenot] has acquired some really good pieces and tools. The things you've got to change is just the obvious holes that we'll talk about."

Fantasy owners who had the second-year wide receiver or rookie running back on their rosters in 2023 likely had disappointing seasons.

London ranked as the No. 42 wide receiver with 69 receptions for 905 yards and two touchdowns on the season. Robinson finished as the No. 12 running back after rushing for 976 yards and four touchdowns and catching 58 balls for 487 yards and four touchdowns.

Neither player's season was bad by any means, but there's a strong argument that both underachieved in what was supposed to be a promising year.

Much of the blame has been put upon former head coach Arthur Smith, who was highly criticized for his usage of his young playmakers. Luckily for Atlanta, he is long gone since joining the Steelers as their new offensive coordinator.

After a bit of a disappointing season, London and Robinson may even come at a cheap price in some leagues. So, there's no better time to invest in the two with a new regime taking over.

Morris watched players like WR Cooper Kupp, WR Puka Nacua and RB Kyren Williams flourish in Sean McVay's offense. He'll likely bring a similar success to London and Robinson with his learned knowledge.

Fantasy owners should feel confident in drafting the Falcons' young playmakers in 2024. However, the same may not be able to be said for Pittsburgh's weapons.
