NFL 2017 Week 2 injury report
Week 2 featured some major injuries to notable players in the NFL.
The following gallery is an injury update as of Wednesday, September 20, as we approach Week 3 games.
Kwon Alexander, ILB, Buccaneers
Tampa Bay's leading tackler last season left Sunday's game with a hamstring injury, and he didn't practice on Wednesday. His status for Week 3 is up in the air.
Joe Barksdale, RT, Chargers
Barksdale was injured in the fourth quarter on Sunday with a left foot injury. He was limited in practice on Wednesday, so his status for Week 3 remains unclear.
Vic Beasley, OLB, Falcons
The Falcons got tough news when Beasley was diagnosed with a slight hamstring tear following Sunday's game. He will miss at least one month.
Garett Bolles, LT, Broncos
Broncos fans feared the worst when Bolles was carted off with an ankle injury on Sunday. Tests revealed only a bone bruise and high ankle sprain. Bolles is considered week-to-week.
Sam Bradford, QB, Vikings
Bradford missed Sunday's game with a bone bruise to his surgically repaired left knee. He was limited in Wednesday's practice and seems likely to play on Sunday.
Marcus Cannon, RT, Patriots
Cannon didn't practice on Wednesday due to a concussion. The Pats will go with Cameron Fleming if Cannon isn't ready on Sunday.
Corey Coleman, WR, Browns
Cleveland got bad news when tests revealed a broken right hand that required surgery for Coleman. He was placed on injured reserve, meaning he can return in eight weeks.
Jamie Collins, OLB, Browns
Collins suffered a concussion on Sunday, and has been in the league's concussion protocol this week. His status for this week's game against the Colts is in doubt.
Mike Daniels, DT, Packers
Daniels is out with a hip injury, and the injury is a big concern for the Packers, according to ESPN.com. His loss would be a major hit to the team's defensive line.
Corey Davis, WR, Titans
Tennessee's first round pick has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. He could return in Week 4.
Tyler Eifert, TE, Bengals
The Bengals offense is already having problems, and they could be worse in Week 3 without Eifert. He's nursing knee and back issues, making him questionable this week.
Cordy Glenn, LT, Bills
Glenn didn't practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury that he suffered in Sunday's game. Buffalo's offensive line could be in trouble if he's not ready this week.
Rob Gronkowski, TE, Patriots
Gronk suffered a groin injury in Sunday's game. While he's claimed the injury is minor, he failed to practice on Wednesday. Pats fans and fantasy owners could be more concerned if he doesn't take the field the rest of this week.
Rob Kelley, RB, Redskins
Kelley left Sunday's game with a rib injury and was limited in practice on Wednesday. He's expected to play on Sunday against the Raiders.
Marshon Lattimore, CB, Saints
The Saints secondary has played poorly in their first two games, and could be in more trouble with Lattimore sidelined due to a concussion. He didn't practice on Wednesday but hasn't been ruled out in Week 3 yet.
Mitch Morse, C, Chiefs
KC got relatively good news when Morse was diagnosed with a foot sprain following Sunday's games. He will miss a few weeks.
Jordy Nelson, WR, Packers
Nelson missed much of Sunday's game with a quad injury, but he expects to play this week against the Bengals. Fellow wideout Randall Cobb also suffered a shoulder injury in the game and could miss this week's contest.
Greg Olsen, TE, Panthers
Olsen left Sunday's win early with a broken right foot and was placed on injured reserve. He could return in eight weeks, but Cam Newton will have to find an alternative outlet receiver in the meantime.
Ryan Schraeder, RT, Falcons
Schraeder left early in Sunday night's game with a concussion and hasn't practiced this week. His status is up in the air for Week 3.
Josh Sitton, OG, Bears
Sitton suffered a rib injury in Sunday's game and didn't return. He has yet to practice this week, and his status is uncertain for Week 3.
T.J. Watt, OLB, Steelers
It sounds like Watt is a go for Week 3 despite a groin injury that he aggravated during Sunday's game. He's off to a nice start in his rookie season.
