NFL executive Troy Vincent addresses Cameron Jordan's comments on fake injury fine

NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent addressed the league's fake injury fines on Wednesday.
Though he wouldn't comment directly on New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan's recent criticism on his punishment, Vincent seemed to make it clear that the incidents are still an issue.

On Saturday, Jordan was fined $50,000 for faking an injury, a claim that the seven-time Pro Bowler denies. Defensive line coach Ryan Nielsen was docked $50,000 and head coach Dennis Allen was fined $100,000, while the NFL fined the team $350,000 as well.

After learning of the punishment over the weekend, Jordan called it "ridiculous." The incident in question came during the Saints' Week 13 "Monday Night Football" game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, when Tampa Bay was facing a fourth-and-10 from their own 25-yard line and Jordan was apparently told to fake an injury.

The Bucs seemed to be considering going for it on fourth down but ultimately chose to punt.

Now in his 12th season, Jordan has recorded a team-high 10 quarterback hits and nine tackles for loss through 12 games, while ranking only behind Demario Davis in sacks with 5.5.
