According to the On3 class of 2025, WR Jerome Bettis Jr. has committed to Notre Dame; he chose the Fighting Irish over schools like Texas A&M, Duke, and Ole Miss.
According to 247sports, Bettis Jr. is a three-star recruit ranked as the 83rd-best wide receiver in the 2025 class.
Many Notre Dame fans saw his father run over people years ago as a running back, and now they will get to see his son make some outstanding catches as a receiver.
Jerome Bettis Was A Great NFL Player
Bettis played 13 seasons in the NFL, mainly for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but his career started with the Rams. He ended up winning AP Offense Rookie of the Year and then saw himself in a Steelers jersey three years later.
Bettis would go on to be named to six Pro Bowls, Two All-Pro Selections, and Super Bowl, and would be named to the Pro Football Hall Of Fame.
Bettis has one of the best nicknames of any NFL player, and he was called The Bus. According to the Beaver County Times, the nickname didn’t start when he got to the NFL, but it actually started when he was at Notre Dame because a student representative said he looked like a Bus carrying people because nobody could bring him down.
Now, Bettis Jr. will follow in his father’s footsteps, and maybe he will find himself with a cool nickname like his father when he steps on Notre Dame’s campus next year.
