NFL 'SNF' Week 14: Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles betting picks, preview

We've got a banger of a "Sunday Night Football" matchup for you this week, as the Dallas Cowboys are hosting the Philadelphia Eagles in a crucial NFC East clash. Let's break down the prime-time battle and find some winning bets along the way.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles betting odds, preview

Spread: Cowboys -3, Over/under: 51.5, Moneyline: Cowboys -180 | Eagles +152

The Eagles had a chance to cruise to the No. 1 seed in the NFC, but their blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers last week opened the door for the Cowboys to make a run at the division title. A Dallas win on "Sunday Night Football" would create a 10-3 tie at the top of the NFC East standings.

The Cowboys, despite their worse record, are favored in this game because of how these two teams are trending. Dallas has won four straight games by an average of 24.0 points, and it's gone 3-1 against the spread over that stretch. The offense is absolutely humming with a scoring average of 39.0 points over its last six games.

The Cowboys rank No. 1 in the NFL in points per game at home (41.0), and now they get to face a defense that's given up 653 passing yards and six passing touchdowns over the last two weeks.

Last week was Philly's second loss of the season, but the Eagles have been outgained by at least 98 yards in five straight games. They've been lucky to go 4-1 in that span, which included a 28-23 win against the Cowboys despite Dak Prescott throwing for 374 yards and three touchdowns.

'Sunday Night Football' betting picks

Over 51.5 (-110 DraftKings)

This is by far the highest total in Week 14, but it's still too low. The Cowboys have scored at least 41 points in four straight home games. They could make it five straight against an Eagles secondary that's been gashed by opposing quarterbacks in four of their last five games.

The Cowboys defense didn't look too hot last week when it gave up 35 points to Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks, and Jalen Hurts presents a much tougher test. This has all the makings of a shootout.

Dallas Goedert over 35.5 receiving yards (-110 FanDuel)

Dallas Goedert is back in the lineup after missing the last three games, and his receiving yards prop is too low because of the uncertainty surrounding his forearm injury. The tight end went over 35.5 receiving yards in five straight games before hurting his arm against the Cowboys. He finished that game with 50 yards despite playing a season-low 48 snaps and leaving early with the injury.

As long as he's close to 100 percent healthy, which seems to be the case, Goedert should cruise over this deflated number.
