NFL 'TNF' Week 13: Dallas Cowboys vs. Seattle Seahawks betting picks, preview

Week 13 kicks off on "Thursday Night Football" with an NFC clash between the Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks. This is a crucial matchup for both teams, as the Cowboys are trying to keep their hopes of the No. 1 seed alive, while the Seahawks are fighting to hold onto a wild-card spot.

Let's dive into the matchup and find some winning bets along the way.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Seattle Seahawks betting odds, preview

Spread: Cowboys -9, Over/under: 47.5, Moneyline: Cowboys -460 | Seahawks +360

This is a matchup between two teams going in opposite directions right now.

The Cowboys are starting to hit their stride at the right time. After losing a heartbreaker to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9, Dallas has ripped out three straight wins by a combined score of 127-37. That's an average of 30 points per game!

The defense has done its job against a trio of struggling quarterbacks, but it's been Dak Prescott who's taken this team to the next level. Over the last three games, Prescott has recorded 924 passing yards and 10 touchdowns with just one interception. The quarterback now ranks second in the NFL in passing touchdowns and sixth in passing yards, and he's climbed to fourth on the MVP odds board at +700.

As for the Seahawks, they've gone downhill since their 5-2 start to the season. Seattle has lost three of its last four games, and it was outscored by the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers by a combined score of 68-16. The Seahawks have struggled to step up in class this season, and they have to do it again Thursday night against a Cowboys team that can dominate inferior opponents.

'Thursday Night Football' betting picks

Cowboys -9 (-108 DraftKings)

These two teams have shown us a similar pattern all season. The Cowboys can blow out below-average teams because of their top-end talent on both sides of the ball, but they don't have a signature win against a Super Bowl contender. The Seahawks have handled their business against lesser teams, but they've looked completely outmatched when they've stepped up in class against an elite defense.

Unfortunately for Seattle, the Cowboys have the third-ranked defense in DVOA. Dallas will be able to generate pressure all night, and its ball-hawking secondary will be ready to pounce on every Geno Smith mistake. Although the Seahawks are 6-5, we have them closer to the teams Dallas has blown out than the Super Bowl contender tier. The Cowboys should roll.

Geno Smith under 231.5 passing yards (-115 DK)

We've seen this story before from Smith. The Seahawks QB can clear 300 passing yards if he's given a clean pocket against bad defenses, but that's not what he's facing Thursday night. Smith managed just 157 passing yards against the Ravens and 180 against the 49ers, plus he's still nursing an elbow injury that clearly limited him last week.
