After suffering a foot sprain on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, things were not looking good for Joey Bosa, who is part of the lethal (on paper at least) pass-rushing tandem for the Los Angeles Chargers, along with former Defensive Player Of The Year, Khalil Mack. Now, it seems that the bad news that many expected has indeed come to fruition, per Adam Schefter.
What This Means For The Los Angeles Chargers’ Defence
Sadly, or I guess fortunately in some ways, the Los Angeles Chargers’ defence has been so bad that even without their oft-injured Pro-Bowl edge rusher, their defensive capabilities are unlikely to be diminished. Despite having stud, best-at-their-respective-position type players in the aforementioned Bosa, Derwin James, Eric Kendricks and Khail Mack, their defence ranks 29/32 in defensive DVOA, and is second in points conceded per game – only behind the Denver Broncos.
A defence that has been giving up nearly 400 points per game does not have a lot of room to get worse, so let’s see how this Chargers team fares sans Joey Bosa.
