Myles Garrett finally captured a well-deserved Defensive Player of the Year award for the 2023 season and now he’s receiving respect from one of the best in the game that he goes up against.

Philadelphia Eagles longtime T Lane Johnson had nothing but good things to say about Garrett, even calling him the best in the game that he’s had to go up against.

“I think the best is Myles,” said Johnson on a recent episode of the New Heights podcast with Jason Kelce. “He can move like [Micah] Parsons, but he’s 280. When you see his bend and his angles he can get to, you’re just like, ‘woah, he looks like something from another planet’.”

The anchor to one of the NFL’s best defenses in 2023, Garrett had 14 sacks and tied his career high of four forced fumbles in 16 games played.

Johnson and his teammate Jordan Mailata both agreed that they rather face power than speed. Johnson pointed out the difference with Garrett.

“Myles got both.”

The Browns and Eagles will play this year and there is a good chance that the game will be played in Week 1 in Brazil. It’ll be a matchup of two teams that are really good in the trenches on both sides.

Johnson’s comments are simply one of the best in the game tipping his hat to another one of the best in the game.
