Is Davante Adams trying to recruit OBJ to the Packers? Joseph Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports

Packers' Davante Adams says he's been in contact with Odell Beckham Jr.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams told the press Wednesday he has been in contact with free-agent wideout Odell Beckham Jr., and while he doesn't want to get too ahead of himself, he hopes OBJ will join the team.

"Hopes are up there pretty high," Adams admitted. "Been talking to him a little bit. So, we'll see what happens."

The Packers have been identified as one of the top choices for Beckham, who became a free agent for the first time in his career on Tuesday after a very tumultuous exit from the Cleveland Browns.

The Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints were identified Wednesday as the other two teams Beckham is particularly interested in signing with, while other teams are apparently still in the mix.

Beckham has 17 catches for 232 yards with no touchdowns so far this season.
