Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers snapped a five-game losing streak by defeating the Dallas Cowboys 31-28 in overtime on Sunday night. They will look to make it two in a row after a quick turnaround as they face the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night.

In order to start piling up the wins, they will need to replicate their formula for victory against Dallas: running the ball. In their win on Sunday, the Packers ran the ball 39 times against just 20 passing attempts. The majority of those attempts went to Aaron Jones, who had 24 carries for 138 yards and a touchdown. If he has a repeat performance on Thursday, he will join a very elite list of Packers running backs.

Aaron Jones Can Move to Third on the Packers All-Time Rushing List

Ahman Green is the Packers’ current leader on their all-time rushing list with 8,322 yards. Hall of Famer Jim Taylor is second with 8,207 yards. Ranking third is Packers Hall of Famer John Brockington, who had 5,024 rushing yards during his career with Green Bay. Finally, Aaron Jones ranks fourth with 4,901 rushing yards.

Jones needs 124 rushing yards to pass Brockington and become the third all-time leading rusher in franchise history. He needs 99 yards to become just the fourth Packers running back to rush for 5,000 yards in the Green and Gold.

This season, Jones is averaging 5.6 yards per carry. If he were to keep up that pace, Jones would need 22 carries on Thursday night to pass Brockington. As mentioned, Jones got 23 carries against Dallas. If the Packers stick with the same mindset on offense, and if Jones maintains his average yards per carry, he will reach the milestone on Thursday night.
