With the return of Jaycee Horn and C.J. Henderson, the Panthers made the decision to waive David Long Jr. last Friday. Monday evening, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that he had been claimed and awarded to the Green Bay Packers.

Long Jr. played in three games with the Panthers this season and made one start. He recorded seven tackles on just 133 defensive snaps. Carolina also signed veteran Shaquill Griffin who should be acclimated to the gameday roster sooner than later.

The Packers traded away Rasul Douglas to Buffalo earlier this season when it looked like they would be out of the playoff mix. Here lately, they've turned things around winning three straight and four of their last five.
