Patriots have done 'a lot of homework' on Florida QB Kyle Trask?

It's still unclear if the New England Patriots will move up in the first round to select one of the top quarterbacks in this year's draft. Even if they don't do that, it certainly seems like Bill Belichick will select a signal-caller in a later round.

NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah recently revealed on the Move the Sticks podcast that the Patriots have done "a lot of homework" on Florida's Kyle Trask.

"I think he makes a lot of sense — the size, the decision-making, the accuracy, those are traits the New England Patriots [like]. I think they had some success with a guy like that, didn't they? It's interesting to see what the Patriots end up doing here," Jeremiah said, according to WEEI's Ryan Hannable. "They are in a position where they could vault up for a quarterback. Do you sit back and be patient and see what falls to you at 15, or do you maybe have your eyes on one of these middle-round guys, or somebody outside the first round? I just think Kyle Trask from a traditional standpoint, again Josh McDaniels I think he would dig what he brings to the table."

Trask started the last two seasons for the Gators, putting up impressive numbers. Last season, the 23-year-old completed 68.9% of his passes for 4,283 yards and 43 touchdowns, both of which led the FBS, against eight interceptions. He also ran for 50 yards and three scores.

The only knock to his draft stock is his lack of mobility, Hannable says. The Patriots are pretty familiar with quarterbacks who lack mobility. For example, Brady isn't the most mobile QB and he won six Super Bowls with the franchise.

If New England passes on Trask, it could possibly select Texas A&M's Kellen Mond, Stanford's Davis Mills or Notre Dame's Ian Book.
