Patriots invite fan who was harassed by Raiders supporter to Week 16 vs. Bengals

At his first NFL game, New England Patriots fan Jerry Edmond not only witnessed his favorite team lose in mind-blowing fashion to the Las Vegas Raiders but was then verbally harassed by a Raiders supporter.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft is looking to make it up to Edmond in Week 16 on Saturday when New England hosts the Cincinnati Bengals.

The viral video of Edmond was posted on Tuesday night, and he identified himself as the calm, cool, and collected fan a couple of hours later.

"The Patriots chairman and CEO called Edmond personally on Wednesday, inviting him to Saturday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Edmond accepted the invitation and will receive a customized jersey and pregame field passes to take in warmups -- certainly a better view than the one he had in Vegas," Patriots reporter Alexandra Francisco wrote.

New England's Christmas Eve tilt against Cincinnati is a big one. With the excruciating loss to the Raiders, the Patriots are now 7-7 with three games to go.

Head coach Bill Belichick's bunch faces an uphill battle to get back in the AFC playoff picture. While the Pats have a difficult remaining schedule, it could help that all three teams left on the docket are directly ahead of them in the conference standings.

Following Saturday's game against the Bengals (10-4), New England will host the Miami Dolphins (8-6) on New Year's Day in Week 17 and be on the road to face the Buffalo Bills (11-3) on Jan. 8. Perhaps Edmonds can be a good luck charm for Kraft's team and spur an upset.
