This week, a New England Patriots fan went viral after a video showed him display a calm and relaxed demeanor despite being repeatedly harassed by a Las Vegas Raiders fan.
On Tuesday, the fan, Jerry Edmond, revealed himself on Twitter, thanking those for their support. Edmond said Sunday was his first time seeing an NFL game live, and he didn't want to respond to the woman's jeers and "ruin" the experience.
I'd like to thank everyone for all the kind words . I'm the Patriots fan in the video , my name is Jerry Edmond and that was my first ever NFL game . I didn't want to ruin my experience by retaliating towards that women so I kept my cool

In an interview with podcaster Brian Babz, Edmond tried to piece together what happened.
Edmond said he'd scream, "That's the Derek Carr that I know," every time the Raiders' quarterback "messed up," and maybe that "lit a fire" under her. He also revealed that the man seen in the video alongside the woman approached him earlier in the game, saying, "stop disrespecting me."
"I got confused," Edmond said. "I didn't know exactly what to say back because I honestly thought he was joking."
After watching perhaps the most excruciating loss in the Patriots' history live, Edmond explained why he kept his composure through the Raiders fans' heckles.
"I know the world we live in," Edmond said. "I know how it would've looked if I did anything on my end to kind of like even retaliate or try to separate myself in any way."
