The Seattle Seahawks are undergoing a franchise-altering shakeup on their coaching staff.

Per multiple reports Wednesday, Pete Carroll is expected to be out as the Seahawks head coach after 14 seasons with the franchise.

Carroll led the Seahawks to back-to-back Super Bowls in 2013 and 2014, beating the Denver Broncos in dominant fashion before a heart-breaking loss to the New England Patriots the following year.

Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn would likely be the strongest candidate to replace Carroll. Quinn worked with the Seahawks in 2009-10 and then in 2013-14.

"Cowboys DC Dan Quinn would quickly be considered a strong candidate to replace Pete Carroll, who now exits as HC," Rapoport tweeted.

Both he and NFL Media's Tom Peliserro said that Carroll is expected to stay with the franchise in a different capacity, but whether that would be as a coaching consultant or front office member is yet to be seen. For now, the Seahawks said in an official statement that Carroll will move into an "advisor" role.
