The Philadelphia Eagles are about to lose one of the key parts of the organization that helped the team on the field be so successful in recent years. The Eagles will be down their vice president of football administration before the 2024 season.

The Philadelphia Eagles lose a key member of the FO for the GM

According to Jeff McLane with the Philadelphia Inquirer, Jake Rosenberg is set to leave the Eagles following the 2024 NFL Draft. Rosenberg wants to find a new job in the NFL where he can eventually advance to become a general manager:

“Over a pretty extended period of time I have just thought to myself that if it doesn’t seem like it’s in the cards for me to advance in this league, and have a chance to keep pushing and growing, that at the end of the day, what is involved to do this in terms of a life perspective, it’s not going to be worth it,” Rosenberg told The Inquirer.

Rosenberg was a big help to Howie Roseman

Per Rosenberg’s bio on the Eagles website, he has been with the team for 12 years. He is a crucial help to general manager Howie Roseman:

“Rosenberg works directly with Executive Vice President/General Manager Howie Roseman on the development and implementation of the Eagles’ plan for player signings and acquisitions. He also plays a key role in all aspects of salary cap management, contract negotiations, compliance with the NFL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, and strategic planning.

Rosenberg previously served as Philadelphia’s director of football administration from 2014-17 after originally joining the Eagles as the manager of football administration in 2012.”

The front office made a major move this offseason

The Eagles’ front office has made numerous incredible decisions and plays to keep talent in Philadelphia with Rosenberg and Roseman. Following a brief flirtation with the trade market this offseason, the Eagles made an important deal to keep pass rusher Josh Sweat with the team.
