QB Kenny Pickett snaps back at Steelers OC Matt Canada

Before the Pittsburgh Steelers' embarrassing 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 4, offensive coordinator Matt Canada told the CBS broadcast team that the offense is "not quite built to come back from big leads."

His statement, although clearly confirmed in Houston, was a shocking one to make as it shows he has no confidence in his offense. Quarterback Kenny Pickett was asked whether he agrees with Canada's comments.

"We've got to be designed to put points up and win games. That's kind of what I care about. I don't care if we're behind or ahead ... it's our job to put more points on the board than the other team does," Pickett told reporters. "I think any game we're in, we have a chance to win, no matter what."

Maybe it's Canada's players who have zero confidence in him because Pickett remains confident, or at least hopeful, that the offense will soon find its rhythm.

Pittsburgh's offense ranks as the fourth-worst team in total yards per game (263) and points per game (15.5) through the first four weeks.

The Steelers offense has shown zero signs of growth under Canada. In fact, it is actually going backward as Pittsburgh's average points per game has decreased every year for the past three seasons.

Head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters this week that there will be no coaching changes "at this juncture" but did say he will continue to review it every week.

"Not good enough," Tomlin said. "All of that is coaching and elements of decision-making. I'm always looking at that, obviously looking at that, certainly [not good enough]."

If Canada's offense continues to struggle and the team starts to turn on him, the Steelers will have to move on from him sooner rather than later.

He'll be put to the test once again in Week 5 when Pittsburgh hosts the Ravens (3-1) for the lead in the AFC North.
