Raiders owner Mark Davis: 'My mindset today is no fans should attend games'

The Raiders have a phenomenal new stadium in Las Vegas for the 2020 campaign, but fans may have to wait for the 2021 season to attend games at the facility due to the coronavirus pandemic.

While many organizations have announced reduced capacity for the upcoming season, Raiders owner Mark Davis is leaning towards not allowing any fans at Allegiant Stadium ... including himself.

"No one fan is more important to me than another, no matter if they paid for a $75,000 PSL or a $500 PSL," Davis told Paul Gutierrez of ESPN. "They're all Raider fans to me. My mindset today is no fans [should attend games].

"I don't even know if it's safe to play. 'Uncertainty' is the word."

Davis told Gutierrez that he sees three different options for the NFL right now:

  1. Go on as planned with teams reporting for training camp next week.
  2. Delay the season until November and play only 12 games.
  3. Cancel the 2020 season entirely.

The Raiders, who are sold out for the 2020 season, have no way of socially distancing fans -- unless they revoke many tickets, which could become messy.

If no fans are allowed to attend games in the brand new stadium, then the Raiders will be making 2021 even better for their fans, provided the coronavirus is under control by then.
