Las Vegas Raiders offensive tackle Brandon Parker's return has been further delayed.

The club announced on Tuesday that the sixth-year Raider has been placed on the injured/reserve list.

Parker missed the entire 2022 season after suffering a triceps injury in last year's Hall of Fame Game.

Despite the hiatus, the Raiders extended the tackle to a one-year contract back in March.

Parker had expressed to media members just a week ago, today, how much the signing and the club's faith in him had meant.

"I just want to prove them right," he said. "I try to be the leader, the positive guy I am every day in the building. I'm trying to earn the respect of my peers every day I come in here about how I work, how I talk, how I walk. I think the coaches see that, and they were willing to give me another chance because of how I carry myself."

Unfortunately for Parker and his team, the veteran is too familiar with having to watch from the sidelines.

"It's never easy to be on the sideline," Parker said last week. "Even if you're in the season and on the sidelines, it's still never easy. So, you have this vision for yourself to come in and evolve every year, and it's just cut short. So obviously you be the teammate, the leader that you can and rally behind your teammates, but at the end of the day, you still want it to be you. We all want it to be us at some point."

Parker has made 32 starts in 54 games for the Raiders.

After making 12 starts in his rookie season, he went two years where he saw just seven combined starts.

His contribution rose back up in 2021-22, though, when Parker started in a career-best 13 games.

Parker was drafted by the Raiders in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Silver and Black return to preseason action when they play the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 19, at 9 p.m. EDT/6 p.m. PDT.
