Raiders, three-time Pro Bowl QB Derek Carr agree to three-year, $121.5M contract extension

The Las Vegas Raiders are right up there with the Miami Dolphins for taking the title of busiest AFC team during this offseason free agency period. They reportedly added to their laundry list of action items over recent weeks with a big contract extension to a career-long Raider on Wednesday.

Las Vegas has made a handful of big-time moves both on and off the field, highlighted by their trade for wide receiver Davante Adams in March.

Carr was selected by the Raiders in the second round at 36th overall during the 2014 NFL Draft and has missed just two regular season games over his career. The 31-year-old Carr made three consecutive Pro Bowls from 2015 to 2017, throwing for a career-high 32 touchdown passes in 2015.

The Fresno State product helped then-Oakland reach the playoffs for the first time in 14 years during the 2016 campaign, but missed Week 17 and the team's AFC Wild Card game due to injury. Carr shattered his previous career-best mark in passing yards in 2021 with 4,804 (helped in part by the 17-game schedule), while completing 68.4% of his passes for 24 touchdowns and a career-high 14 interceptions.
