QB Derek Carr on contract extension: 'I'm either going to be a Raider or I'm going to be playing golf'

Fresh off of agreeing to a three-year, $121.5 million contract extension, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr indicated on Wednesday that he had no intention of playing for any other NFL franchise. If he wasn't going to be staying with the only organization he's known since joining the league in 2014, he said he might as well hit the links.

The Carr extension continued what has been a massive offseason for the Raiders. Among the other notable moves have been the March trade for All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams and the hiring of new head coach Josh McDaniels.

A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Carr will be entering his ninth NFL season this fall. He shattered his previous career-best mark in passing yards in 2021 with 4,804 (helped in part by the 17-game schedule), while completing 68.4 percent of his passes for 24 touchdowns and a career-high 14 interceptions.

The Raiders made the playoffs for just the second time during Carr's tenure last year. They haven't won a postseason game since they advanced all the way to Super Bowl XXXVII, where they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
