Las Vegas Raiders guard/center Ben Brown has not had a whole lot of experience yet in his young NFL career, but it could end up being crucial that the Raiders have him on their roster by the start of the 2024 NFL season.

As of now, the Raiders have just two players on their roster whose primary position is center, including Andre James, who is a free agent this offseason. Brown is listed as a guard, but he started 10 games at center for Ole Miss in the 2020 season.

Brown had high expectations placed on him following that 2020 season, but the young center's final season with the Rebels would be brief, as he missed Ole Miss' final seven games of the season after suffering a torn right bicep, which ended up requiring surgery.

The prospect would go undrafted and sign with the Cincinnati Bengals as a free agent in 2022. He would suffer a biceps injury yet again in the Bengals' first preseason game, sending him to IR and making him unavailable for the entire 2022 campaign.

Cincinnati released Brown as part of final roster cuts ahead of the 2023 season. He was then signed to the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad.

Brown played just one game for Seattle in 2023, his only regular season NFL game so far. The following month, he was waived before being signed back to the practice squad. The Seahawks ultimately released Brown a little over a month later.

Just weeks before being signed by Las Vegas, Brown was signed to the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad. He then became a free agent after not being signed to a reserve/future contract by Arizona.

The Raiders would sign Brown to a one-year reserve/future contract worth $915,000.

If Brown can stay healthy and proves he deserves a roster spot in training camp (if he gets to that point), he has a legitimate shot at finding a role with the Raiders next season.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
