Rams, Chargers not expected to relocate amid COVID-19 concerns

While the San Francisco 49ers were forced to relocate due to new COVID-19 protocols put in place by Santa Clara County, California's other NFL teams are going to stay put.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers aren't expected to relocate amid rising coronavirus concerns in Los Angeles County.

It was reported on Friday that the Rams and Chargers were preparing for a situation in which they might not be able to play home games at SoFi Stadium, but with less than one month remaining in the regular season, both teams should be good to go.  The Rams and Chargers  will have to move only if Los Angeles County bans contact sports or has limited availability in hospital intensive-care units, per new statewide activity rules outlined by Gov. Gavin Newsom.

The 49ers, meanwhile, could end up playing the remainder of the 2020 season at State Farm Stadium in Arizona. Santa Clara County's ban on contact sports is set to expire on Dec. 21, but if extended, the 49ers will have to stay in Arizona.
