Rams officially add S Eric Weddle to roster for Wild Card game vs Cardinals

The Los Angeles Rams have made Eric Weddle's un-retirement tour official, boosting him from the practice squad so he can play in Monday's Wild Card matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

Weddle's activation came as Taylor Rapp was ruled out of Monday's game because he failed to clear concussion protocol and Jordan Fuller sustained a season-ending ankle injury.

Weddle, 37, had been retired from professional football for two years before the Rams signed him last week. He previously spent 13 seasons in the league playing for the Chargers, Ravens, and Rams, making six Pro Bowls and earning two All-Pro designations.

While getting a reinforcement like Weddle is newsworthy, it doesn't guarantee L.A. will be able to pull off a victory over Arizona given how banged up their secondary is.

That being said, the Rams are still favored to defeat the Cardinals according to the sportsbooks, with Tipico setting them as a 3.5-point favorite to win on Monday night.
