Rams QB Matthew Stafford underwent offseason elbow procedure

The last time football fans saw Matthew Stafford take snaps during a meaningful NFL game, he was helping lead the Los Angeles Rams to a Super Bowl LVI victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in February. The 34-year-old then signed a four-year, $160 million contract extension with the Rams in March.

Once training camp began though, many of the headlines surrounding Stafford were regarding his injured right elbow. While the former No. 1 overall pick still participated in practices, the team elected not to play Stafford in any of the three preseason games this summer.

ESPN's Adam Schefter had an update on the injury Thursday morning.

"I feel good," Stafford said, per ESPN. "I'm ready to go. No limitations. ... I feel great. I'm ready to go play. Can always be better. Can always try to feel like I'm 21 again. I'll keep trying. But no, I feel really good. I feel like I can make every throw."

Stafford matched his career highs in completion percentage (67.2%) and passing touchdowns (41), while finishing with 4,886 passing yards and a league-high 17 interceptions last season as well. He added a 70 percent completion percentage for 1,188 yards and nine touchdowns against three interceptions in the playoffs.
