Ravens' dramatic Week 14 OT win may have come at a cost

The Ravens (10-3) were able to squeak out their 10th win of the season with an overtime punt return for a touchdown against the Rams (6-7). However, the dramatic victory may have come at a cost as they watched one of their top defenders go down with an injury.

Safety Kyle Hamilton, Baltimore's 2022 first-round pick, left the game with a knee injury and didn't return. He will have an MRI Monday to determine the extent of the injury, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

If Hamilton's injury does turn out to be serious, it will certainly be a blow to the Ravens defense, which is allowing the second fewest total yards per game (284.4) and points per game (16.8) in the league.

The second-year player has been big reason why in his breakout season, posting 69 tackles, three sacks, one forced fumble, two interceptions, nine passes defensed and a touchdown.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler even named Hamilton a "sneaky candidate" for this year's NFL Defensive Player of the Year award.

"Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton has been all over the field," Fowler wrote. "Hamilton barely leaves the field in any situation. His constant presence allows [DC Mike] Macdonald to show offenses different looks based on where Hamilton lines up."

It's a long shot for him to win the DPOY, especially with his status in question moving forward, but it proves how much of an impact Hamilton has made this year.

Baltimore, which sits atop the AFC as the No. 1 seed ahead of "Monday Night Football's" doubleheader, has Super Bowl aspirations this season. Those aspirations with take a hit if Hamilton misses extended time. Fans will surely be holding their breath in the meantime.
