Ravens give health update on WR Rashod Bateman

The receiver position is one of the Ravens' biggest needs heading into the offseason. However, they have some good news regarding their injured 2021 first-round pick.

"[Rashod Bateman] is going to be ready really soon to run full speed," head coach John Harbaugh told reporters. "He's going to have a great offseason."

Bateman played in just seven games this season, posting 15 catches for 285 yards and two touchdowns. There was a lot of excitement for the second-year receiver entering 2022 after playing in just 12 games as a rookie, but his season ended due to a foot injury that required surgery.

Harbaugh added that the screws in Bateman's surgically repaired foot can come out, but that they don't have to. Bateman recently posted a photo of his foot healing on Instagram.

If Bateman can get fully healthy this offseason, it would certainly help Baltimore's receiving corps for 2023. The Ravens were the third-worst team in receiving yards and didn't have a receiver eclipse 500 yards.

"All of these guys are healthy going into the offseason, which gives them a chance to train from now until then to get ready to go," Harbaugh added. "That helps your injury outlook going forward too."
