Ravens QB Lamar Jackson back on injury report, listed as questionable vs. Bears with illness

Lamar Jackson is questionable for the Baltimore Ravens' Week 11 game against the Chicago Bears after he was re-added to the injury report with an illness, the team announced Saturday.

Jackson, 24, did not practice Wednesday or Thursday with an undisclosed illness, but returned to practice Friday and was removed from the injury report. He told reporters after the practice that he "probably had a cold," but recovered and was now "feeling great."

A year ago, Jackson sat out a November game after testing positive for COVID-19. Robert Griffin III started in Jackson's stead in a game that was postponed until a Wednesday due to the pandemic, but Griffin suffered a hamstring injury and was replaced by Trace McSorley. The combination of Griffin and McSorley completed only nine passes for 110 yards in a 19-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

If Jackson is unable to play against the Bears, he would be replaced in the lineup by second-year quarterback Tyler Huntley. The former Utah quarterback has appeared in four NFL games and completed eight of 16 passes for 54 yards, but has never made a start.

Jackson has thrown 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2021 and has led the Ravens on four fourth-quarter comebacks. The 6-3 Ravens are atop the AFC North, but have the 5-3-1 Steelers, 5-4 Cincinnati Bengals, and 5-5 Cleveland Browns hot on their heels.
