Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton makes Pro Bowl history

The Ravens hit a home run with safety Kyle Hamilton, one of their two first-round picks in 2022. The second-year player has impressed all season and made history with his first Pro Bowl selection.

Hamilton has become the youngest defensive starter named to the Pro Bowl at age 22.

The pick isn't isn't surprising at all, however. Hamilton posted 81 tackles, three sacks, one forced fumble, four interceptions, 13 passes defensed and one touchdown this year.

Hamilton has quickly established himself as one of the top safeties in the league and one of Baltimore's key defensive pieces.

That isn't just supported by the fans either. His peers voted him to the National Football League Players Association's second annual Players' All-Pro Team, which is voted on by the players themselves.

Hamilton is a big reason why the Ravens defense has been so dominant this season, allowing the fewest points per game (16.5) and sixth-fewest total yards per game (301.4) in the NFL. He knows he must continue playing at a high level after locking up the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

"The way our roster is set up and the way we're coached, there's no reason we can't accomplish our goal," Hamilton said. "Everything's kind of clicking. I feel like we're the best team in the league."

Only time will tell if Baltimore reaches its Super Bowl aspirations. But if the team does, Hamilton will have likely played a big role in doing so.

Nonetheless, Hamilton still thinks he has a long way to go until he reaches his full potential, which is music to the ears of all Ravens fans.

"I feel like there's still a lot that I can improve on and a lot that I want to get better at," Hamilton added. "I've had let's say – a satisfactory year. I've had a good year, but I feel like I hold myself to a high standard, and I have a lot more getting better to do."

If that's true, this year's Pro Bowl will be the first of many for Hamilton.
