Ravens trying to beat Rams to signing All-Pro LB Bobby Wagner?

As recently as Wednesday, it seemed nearly an inevitability that star linebacker Bobby Wagner would put pen to paper on a deal with the Los Angeles Rams. The six-time First-Team All-Pro had repeatedly been linked with the Rams since the Seattle Seahawks released him earlier this month, and the Los Angeles native met with the defending Super Bowl champions earlier this week.

However, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported Friday that the Rams have competition for Wagner's signature in the Baltimore Ravens

On Wednesday, Wagner made it clear to TMZ Sports what he's looking for from any would-be future employer.

"I just want to win," the 31-year-old told that outlet.

While the Rams unquestionably have a championship-caliber roster, it shouldn't be forgotten that the Ravens finished this past campaign at 8-9 largely because starting quarterback Lamar Jackson missed the final month of play with a lingering ankle injury. Baltimore entered December at 8-3.

As for Wagner, he finished the 2021 season with 170 total tackles, a sack, an interception, a forced fumble and five pass breakups, so it's understandable why Baltimore wants to woo him before the upcoming draft.

Wagner's final decision may come down to money, especially if the Ravens are able to win a bidding war for his services over the Rams.
