Report: Browns designate Jarvis Landry to return from IR

The Cleveland Browns may be getting back one of their key offensive weapons soon.

According to multiple reports Friday morning, the Browns have designated wide receiver Jarvis Landry to return from injured reserve. The five-time Pro Bowl wideout went on IR on Sept. 21 with an MCL sprain.

In Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Landry had a team-high five receptions and trailed only tight end David Njoku in receiving yards with 71. The former Miami Dolphins receiving machine was limited to just two offensive snaps in Week 2 and made one catch for nine yards on his lone target.

Cleveland is 3-2 and has averaged 28.4 points per game -- which ranks sixth in the NFL -- but without Landry, including Week 2, Baker Mayfield has thrown for under 200 passing yards twice and 203 yards in another contest before going for 301 yards in last Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Running back Kareem Hunt currently leads in the team in both targets and receptions with 21 and 17, respectively, and Mayfield has thrown for four touchdowns this season, only one of which has gone to a wide receiver.
