Browns' Kevin Stefanski still committed to using Odell Beckham Jr.?

Fans of the Cleveland Browns, not to mention fantasy football owners, have noticed that star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has seen his targets and connections with quarterback Baker Mayfield decrease each week since the 28-year-old returned to in-game action from the torn ACL he suffered last fall.

Mayfield targeted Beckham nine times in the Week 3 win over the Chicago Bears, but those values decreased to seven and, most recently, three targets. In total, Beckham has just nine receptions for 124 yards and zero touchdowns on the season, and this reality resulted in head coach Kevin Stefanski once again addressing what's becoming an elephant in the room.

"I look at each game and what do we have to do to win? What do we need to do to go score a bunch of points? As I’ve mentioned before, he’s a dynamic football player," Stefanski said of Beckham on Wednesday, per Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. "He’s very front-of-mind when we’re game-planning, when we’re calling plays. Sometimes the defense dictates that the ball goes elsewhere, and we’re comfortable with that because we have good players elsewhere."

The 3-2 Browns will complete three more games before the Nov. 2 NFL trade deadline. If they drop at least two of those contests and sit at 4-4 or worse after Halloween, they could embrace an "addition by subtraction" approach and sell Beckham, albeit at a discount, ahead of the Week 9 matchup at the Cincinnati Bengals.
