Report: Ex-Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn could be Seahawks' next OC

Former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn may be back on his feet with a new coaching job in the NFL very soon.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Seattle Seahawks have contacted Lynn about their vacant offensive coordinator position. Lynn isn't sure what he'll be doing in 2021, though Pelissero adds that he'd be among the top candidates to join Pete Carroll's coaching staff.

The Chargers fired Lynn after a disappointing 7-9 season. Similarly, the Seahawks fired offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer after a 30-20 wild-card round loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Lynn served as a running backs coach for several teams from 2003-2015 before being named offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills in 2016.

It's unclear who Seattle might also be interested in for the position. However, The Seattle Times names Chargers offensive coordinator Shane Steichen, Chargers quarterbacks coach Pep Hamilton, Seahawks passing-game coordinator Dave Canales, Las Vegas Raiders assistant John Morton and former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson as potential candidates.
