Report: Multiple teams have called about free-agent CB Richard Sherman

Free-agent cornerback Richard Sherman is reportedly drawing plenty of interest.

Multiple teams have called about the veteran defender in recent days, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reach out after starting corner Sean Murphy-Bunting dislocated his elbow during Week 1, Pelissero adds. The San Francisco 49ers, who have stayed in contact with Sherman, have also expressed signing him after Jason Verrett tore his ACL.

Sherman expects to play again this year, according to Pelissero. However, the 33-year-old's asking price is reportedly high. The 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints showed interest in the five-time Pro Bowler this offseason but were unwilling to meet his contract demands.

The former fifth-round pick also remains unsigned due to a July arrest for attempting to force his way into his in-laws' residence. He was charged with misdemeanor of criminal trespass with a domestic violence designation. He has since been undergoing therapy.

Sherman spent the last three seasons in San Francisco after beginning his career with the Seahawks. He was limited to five games last season due to various injuries but was named a Pro Bowler in 2019 after recording three interceptions, 11 passes defensed and 61 tackles.
