A New York Giants quarterback is mulling options

The New York Giants quarterback situation is about to get more complicated this offseason. Quarterback Daniel Jones has free agency coming up. He played well this season, and the Giants will likely franchise tag him or sign him in the coming months. Another Giants quarterback is also considering other options for next season.

According to Adam Schefter, Giants backup quarterback Davis Webb is considering retiring as a player in the NFL. Schefter reports that Webb wants to become an assistant coach in the right situation.

Webb started for the Giants against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 18. He threw for 168 yards and one touchdown in the 22-16 loss to the Eagles. Webb played at Texas Tech from 2013-2015. He transferred to California for his senior season. The Giants drafted Webb in the third round of the 2017 draft.

Webb has been offered a coaching job in the NFL before by the Buffalo Bills. Webb spent time with the Bills from 2019-2021. He’s also has been with the New York Jets organization.
