Report: Tampa police placing extra security around Tom Brady's home

If you wanted to take a swing by Tom Brady's Tampa Bay mansion via boat this Memorial Day weekend, you may want to think again.

The Tampa police have reportedly implemented "extra duty" security in Hillsborough Bay to keep boaters from sight-seeing at the 42-year-old's home, according to the blog JoeBucsFan.com.

Tampa PD began surveilling the area about a week ago, the report states, and there's no word on how long the extra security will be implemented for.

Memorial Day is one of the busiest boating weekends of the year across the state of Florida, and it seems the Buccaneers are picking up some, if not all, of the tab for the extra security surrounding the Brady home, the report stated.

Brady is renting the massive mansion from former New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, and the QB probably hasn't had much privacy since signing his two-year, $50 million deal with the Bucs in March.

It's no surprise that Brady wants some extra privacy during the holiday weekend. The hype surrounding the six-time Super Bowl champion gearing up for his first season with the Buccaneers is real.

With Tampa Bay not having been to the playoffs since 2007, fans are hoping Brady can lead the organization to not only a postseason berth, but a Super Bowl championship as well.
