Report: Teams contacting Seahawks about trade for Russell Wilson

The Seattle Seahawks are not shopping Russell Wilson. However, that has not stopped teams from asking the Seahawks about his availability.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, teams have called the Seahawks with hopes of landing Wilson. Seattle, though, is not entertaining offers for the seven-time Pro Bowler.

It's unclear which teams were bold enough to give the Seahawks a call about their longtime franchise quarterback.

Wilson just finished one of the best seasons of his career, completing a career-high 68.8% of his passes for 4,212 yards and 40 touchdowns against 13 interceptions. He also ran for 513 yards and two scores.

The 32-year-old found a lot of success because former offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer opened up his playbook, allowing Wilson to pass more often. Or, as Seahawks fans say, by "letting Russ cook."

Schottenheimer was recently fired, and head coach Pete Carroll indicated that Seattle might run the ball more frequently in 2021. With that being said, some teams might have seen the impending changes in Seattle as an opportunity to check in on Wilson's status with the franchise.
