Report: Multiple teams interested in Jets QB Sam Darnold

It's unclear if the New York Jets intend to trade Sam Darnold. However, that hasn't stopped teams from checking in on the quarterback's availability.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, multiple teams are interested in Darnold, and the Jets aren't turning away calls on the third-year QB.

When it was reported that disgruntled Houston Texans star Deshaun Watson preferred a trade to the Jets, many believed New York would be willing to move Darnold. With the Texans now turning away phone calls regarding Watson, it seems like a trade isn't going to happen on that front.

Still, the Jets own the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and potentially have the opportunity to select one of Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Trey Lance, Mac Jones and many other successful collegiate standouts.

At this point, it might be good for the Jets and Darnold to part ways. In three seasons in New York, the 23-year-old is 13-25, completing 59.8% of his passes for 8,097 yards and 45 touchdowns against 39 interceptions.

If the franchise truly wants to rebuild, trading Darnold is, at the very least, worth considering. It's unclear which teams are interested in the USC product.
