Could Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy become the Texans' next head coach? Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Report: Texans expected to request second interviews with Eric Bieniemy, Leslie Frazier

The Houston Texans are the only team in the NFL with a vacant head-coaching position. Star quarterback Deshaun Watson reportedly wants Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy to be the franchise's next head coach, but it's unclear if the Texans feel the same.

ESPN's Adam Schefter provided us with a little more clarity on Sunday. According to Schefter, the Texans plan to request second interviews with Bieniemy and Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier after Sunday's AFC Championship Game.

Schefter says both candidates believe they have a "legitimate chance" at landing the Texans' job and have begun assembling a coaching staff in case they are hired.

Bieniemy had been passed on by every team who had a head-coaching vacancy this offseason. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes recently voiced his support for Bieniemy, saying "it's crazy" he hasn't gotten a head-coaching job yet. Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores also said last month that "something's wrong" if Bieniemy doesn't land a head-coaching gig.

It seems the Texans are trying to please Watson by bringing Bieniemy back in for a second interview. However, it's unclear if that will be enough to quell the disgruntled quarterback.

The Texans have also interviewed quarterback Josh McCown, former Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts coach Jim Caldwell, Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus and Baltimore Ravens assistant head coach David Culley.
