Rob Gronkowski makes huge accusation about Chiefs' Kadarius Toney

Future Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski voiced a strong take about the many miscues committed by Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney this season.

"Kadarius Toney is an athletic freak," Gronkowski said during an appearance on the FanDuel TV "Up & Adams" program, per Chris Rosvoglou of The Spun. "He can run routes like no other. He can return punts. But, when you're making costly mistakes like that, in and out, I mean from the beginning of the season to the middle of the season, throughout your whole career, it's kind of like you don't love the game of football."

The New York Giants clearly had questions about Toney's dedication to the cause when they traded the 2021 first-round draft pick to the Chiefs in the fall of 2022. While Toney made positive contributions during Kansas City's Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles, he's now more so known for committing several lowlight-reel drops and other avoidable errors seemingly on a weekly basis.

"...Those mistakes that he's making should have been corrected after the first time," Gronkowski added about Toney. "If you love the game of football, you go back to the locker room, you take accountability of it all, you go hit the practice field and you make sure you look that ball in, catch it, and tuck it, and secure that ball well. That's what you do if you love football and you don't make that mistake again. But when you keep making mistakes like that, you must not be that much into the game, and you must not love the game."

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid have routinely defended Toney, in part because Kansas City needs play-makers at the receiver position as the club attempts to complete a second-consecutive trip to the Super Bowl.

Toney may have opportunities to at least temporarily silence critics such as Gronkowski when the 9-5 Chiefs host the 6-8 Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day.
