Roger Goodell: NFL schedule will still be released May 9

Despite growing coronavirus concerns across the United States, Roger Goodell said the NFL still will release the 2020 schedule on May 9, according to WEEI's Ryan Hannable.

While conditions could change at any moment, Goodell added that the league is ready to adapt to multiple different scenarios.

At this point it's probably a good idea to release the NFL schedule. It'll give people a glimmer of hope in a sports world that's lacked it for months now.

The NFL season isn't set to begin until September, and with a whole summer to go we can only hope that sports return sometime in the near future.

If games do go on as scheduled, it's more than likely they'll be played in empty stadiums. You can't cram tens of thousands of people into one venue with the risk of the coronavirus spreading.
