Russell Wilson's performance against Colts raises big questions

After Denver QB Russell Wilson's latest performance against the Colts on Thursday night, some think Russ is cooked.

"For those people who think Russell Wilson is washed, you win tonight," said longtime Wilson supporter Colin Cowherd on his podcast following the Broncos' 12-9 loss.

Against the Colts, Wilson struggled, completing 21-of-39 for 274 yards and throwing two interceptions. He had a 54.9 passer rating, well below the league average.

On the final play of the game on fourth down, Wilson threw incomplete to Courtland Sutton in the end zone. He apparently didn't see a wide-open K.J. Hamler, who could have easily scored a touchdown.

Hamler showed his frustration, slamming his helmet down -- the team's season in a microcosm.

In acquiring Wilson from Seattle, the Broncos traded quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, first- and second-rounders in each of the next two drafts, and a 2022 fifth-rounder.

Per Bleacher Report, Wilson threw 11 TDs and two picks in his last five games in Seattle. In his first five games in Denver, he has thrown four touchdowns and three interceptions,

In the post-game news conference, Wilson promised he would silence doubters. "I'm looking forward to turning it around. When we do, it's gonna be a special story," Wilson said.

Wilson and the Broncos must improve soon, or this could be another playoff-less season for a team that hasn't made the postseason since 2015.
