Alvin Kamara and the New Orleans Saints hammered the New England Patriots by a score of 34-0 on Sunday, snapping a two-game skid and improving to 3-2 on the season.

In the win, Kamara carried the ball 22 times for 80 yards and a touchdown while also logging three catches for 17 yards.

While those numbers may appear uneventful on the surface, Kamara’s score set a Saints record for most touchdowns in franchise history (h/t NFL Rumors on X). Between rushing and receiving scores, Kamara has now reached the end zone 73 times throughout seven years in New Orleans.

Kamara missed the first three games of this season due to a suspension because of off-the-field issues. Since he returned in Week 4, he has rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown while averaging four yards per carry. In addition, he has caught 16 passes for 50 yards.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Tennessee, was originally selected by the Saints in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He enjoyed a terrific rookie campaign, registering 728 yards and eight scores as a rusher while also hauling in 81 receptions for 826 yards and five touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Alvin Kamara proceeded to earn trips to the Pro Bowl in each of his first five campaigns, posting over 80 catches in each of his first four seasons. While his efficiency has dipped over the last three years, the Atlanta native remains a dangerous dual threat and an integral part of New Orleans’ offense.

The Saints are looking to make it back to the playoffs after failing to qualify for the postseason in each of the last two years. They will head on the road to take on the Houston Texans next Sunday.
