Saints' Caesars Superdome roof catches fire
The New Orleans Saints are still operating out of Dallas and away from their home of the Caesars Superdome because of hardships caused by Hurricane Ida.
According to Ken Daley of WAFB, the roof of the Superdome caught fire Tuesday afternoon.
It's not yet known if anybody was injured at the venue. The New Orleans Fire Department responded to the scene.
The Saints "hosted" the Green Bay Packers at TIAA Bank Field, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars, in Week 1 of the NFL regular season after they were displaced because of the hurricane. While New Orleans won that contest 38-3, the club suffered a disappointing 26-7 loss at the Carolina Panthers this past Sunday.
The Saints play at the New England Patriots this coming Sunday and are currently scheduled to welcome the New York Giants to the Superdome on Oct. 3. There's no word if Tuesday's events will alter New Orleans' schedule through the first Sunday of next month.
