For part of Drew Brees' career with the New Orleans Saints, he had some elite offensive linemen in front of him. One of those players was interior OL Jahri Evans.
Evans was a four-time Pro Bowler and won a Super Bowl with New Orleans. His impact was felt on and off the field. Brees and other teammates consistently raved about his leadership and work ethic. Now, he is getting some of the spotlight.
Evans is officially a semifinalist for the 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame class.
He spent a decade with the Saints (2006-2016) . Evans ended his career in 2017 with a season with the Green Bay Packers.
Evans is the highest draft choice (108th overall) selected from Bloomsburg University. He started the first game of his rookie campaign and never looked back. Evans started 122 games in a row between 2006 and 2013.
In every sense of the word, Evans was the definition of consistency and availability. That's major for an NFL offensive lineman. The former Saints lineman was a semifinalist last year as well. Hopefully, he will get inducted sooner rather than later.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024 will be announced at the NFL Awards Ceremony on February 8.
