Saints Pro Bowl DE's wife referenced Tom Brady in reaction to contract extension

New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan inked a two-year, $27.5M contract extension with the only NFL team he's known on Friday.

When Jordan told his wife about the upcoming decision, she referenced twice-retired NFL legend Tom Brady.

Brady, of course, played 22 seasons from 2000-2021, before retiring from the league on February 1, 2022. "TB12" then un-retired less than six weeks later and played his age-45 campaign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and announced his second retirement on the one-year anniversary of his first big decision.

Brady's final year in the NFL was a difficult one off the field, as he and Giselle Bundchen announced their divorce in October after 13 years of marriage.

Jordan is one of the best defensive players in Saints history, as he holds the franchise record for quarterback hits (219) and tackles for loss (150) and is second in career sacks (115.5). The eight-time Pro Bowler also ranks fourth all-time in New Orleans history in passes defended (58) and is tied for sixth in forced fumbles (15).

A host of Jordan's family members joined him for the big day on Friday and while his wife apparently reacted with the Brady quip, she also sounded committed to keeping the family in the Big Easy.

Jordan is "only" entering his 13th pro season this fall, so he's got a long way to catch Brady. It doesn't sound like he's planning on playing into his 40s like the former quarterback.
