New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen is on the hot seat. In fact, it just may be on fire as he enters the 2024 season.

2023 was a disappointment on all accounts for the Saints. Close losses, crucial mistakes, and embarrassing blunders were all often occurrences. Those cannot happen when you believe you can contend for the NFC crown. Now, Allen must prove to the front office that he's the man for the job. He's got backing from two fan favorite players, too.

Demario Davis and Tyrann Mathieu have a ton of respect for Dennis Allen

On Robert Griffin III's podcast, RG3 and The Ones, Mathieu defended Allen in a strong way. He believes in him as the Saints head coach still.

There is no secret. Mathieu thinks that Allen is one of the top defensive minds in the league. That's not a crazy consideration, either. He's found a lot of defensive success since he joined Sean Payton's staff as his DC.

Mathieu doubled down on his sentiment with his own tweet. Then, Davis backed him up on social media.

Two of the top veterans on the roster still think Allen can lead them to success. That's hard to project considering Allen's lack of success as a head coach, but the players also understand they must play better in order to find more postseason success. It isn't solely on the coach.

Early in April, Allen was ranked as the worst head coach in the NFL that isn't a new hire. Those rankings came from NBC Sports. The national media does not have the same faith in Allen that the Saints players do.

Overall, he is 24-46 as a head coach between his time with the Saints and Raiders. his defenses have been consistently solid in New Orleans, but the offense has never found its footing. Now, with an aging defense, he is hoping that a new offensive scheme can turn the overall tides regarding the success off the organization. -- A to Z Sports

We will see if Davis and Mathieu can help Allen prove that he is the answer at HC in New Orleans. They've all got a lot to prove in 2024.
